STYLE
Kos has a pretty simple style: he wears mostly black and charcoal gray colors, and most of his closet is made up of skinny jeans, tank tops, short sleeve button up shirts, turtlenecks and leather jackets. If he’s going on his bike he wears sunglasses.
He sometimes wears either some layered silver necklaces or rings, or a rosary wrapped around his wrist, but he won’t wear a lot of jewelry at once.
Artist notes
His right eye usually peeks out from the parting in his bangs, but his left eye is always covered.
His usual expression is looking very tired and done with whatever is currently happening, but he will fire off a shit-eating grin when he’s feeling smug.
You may trace his his tattoos if you like, but the designs don’t have to be exactly replicated. Feel free to interpret or take liberties!

THE MORE YOU KNOW
GENERAL
Kostas — or Kos — is a tired man haunted by both ghosts and a past that he doesn’t quite understand. He tries his best to just live a normal quiet life as a barista. He has a stoic and somewhat grumpy demeanor, and while he finds comfort in being around people, he doesn’t like talking much, and tries to keep people at a distance. He has a kind heart, but he’s afraid that if someone gets too close to him, something terrible might happen — to either them or to him.
Kos has the ability to see ghosts and spirits, and when they realize that Kos can see them, they tend to get curious and attempt to communicate — ghosts in particular can be very bothersome, since they often have some sort of unfinished business they want someone to help them with. Kostas has no desire to run errands for ghosts, he just wants to be left alone. In an attempt to avoid the supernatural as much as possible, he settled down in area that is protected from malevolent spirits by a nearby shrine. But it doesn’t keep the benevolent and the neutral spirits away, so he keeps his face covered by his bangs at all times, trying to keep spirits out of sight and out of mind.
BACKSTORY
[CW: death, dark themes] Some years ago, Kostas woke up in the back of a burning car with a bleeding head wound and strangulation marks around his neck, and no memories of who he was or how he got there. In the other seats, unmoving figures were already starting to catch fire. Panicked, he stumbled out of the car, and watched it slowly burn down together with the quiet passengers, as well as any clues and traces he could ever hope to find of his past.
The only conclusion he could make was that someone had tried to kill him and the others, and stage it as an accident. Without knowing who wanted him dead, or why, he decided that the only thing he could do from now was to keep his face hidden and run away, and start a new life somewhere far away from there.
Personal
For a long time Kostas kept his head low, and lived in fear that whoever had made an attempt on his life would realize that he was still alive, and track him down again to finish the job. As the years passed quietly with no incident, he has started to think that he might’ve gotten away safely. But even though the feeling of being hunted has started to wane, the mystery of his past remains. He can’t help but wonder what kind of person he had been before… if maybe he had deserved an untimely end.
Kos is still racked with survivor’s guilt, wondering why he alone survived. Wondering who the other people in the car were, and if they were his friends or family. And on the worst nights, wondering if the passengers who he had presumed to be dead, might have still been alive when he got out of the car, and if he could have saved them.
He has an anxious feeling of being a bad person who doesn’t deserve love, and he’s scared of attachments. He’s already lost everyone he ever knew, and he can’t bear the thought of losing yet an other person.
Enter Nico. A loud, bright, and cheerful girl who lives life to its fullest every day, and doesn’t take no for an answer. She walks into the coffee shop he works in, sets her eyes on Kos, and promptly asks him out. He says no of course, but that doesn’t deter her. She becomes a regular, always chatting happily and asking him out again before she leaves with her coffee. Slowly but surely, as time passes they become friends. Eventually Kos starts to think, that maybe, just maybe it’s time to embrace a little bit of happiness.
